Food is Not a Luxury - It's Our Right

Due to a lack of nutrictional security, many people in our world continue to suffer from hunger, and manutrition. The fact that between 691, and 783 million people went hungry in the last few years serves as a reminder of how serious this issue is, and how urgently it needs to be resolved. The theme serves as a reminder that having full access to nutritional food is not only a human need, but also our right. Every person, regardless of background, deserves to live a healthy life. Raising awareness of this problem is a way to create more stunger, and healthy community.

July 29, 2025 - where we Grade 10 - Martinelli contributed to nutritional month by preparing, and selling nutritious snacks, sandwiches made with fresh vegetables, wheat bread, and healthy protein from eggs. We chose ingredients that everyone can access to nutritious food, we selected ingredients that is high in nutrients - because they are healthy and that's what people need in their body. Protein helps the body grow, repair, and stay strong, which makes it very important for everyone. Foods that are protein makes people feel full for a long time.

The nutritional event that was led by Technology and Livelihood Education Club, didn't only did this to help promote good nutrition, but it also taught us the importants of teamwork, budgeting, and the satisfaction that comes from helping others. We also support our classmates who join on nutrition jingle by watching and cheering them and by the effort they put into practicing they made it and won.

In this experience, I learned that helping solve food insecurity starts with a small step. By selling healthy, affordable meals, we helped raise awareness that good nutrition is not a luxury - It's our right. We may be students, but we are capable of being part of the solution by promoting healthy eating- by encouraging classmates and friends to choose nutritious food, help collect food donations for those in need, use social media, school projects or class discussion to discussion or talk about hunger, and nutrition. Educate yourself and others about proper nutrition by only eating what you can and store leftovers properly. Let us continue to act, and to care - not just for ourselves, but for others who need our help. Rember, that this start with a small step to large steps that lead to a big change. Let us be the voice of poor people - those who can't afford foods.
