Quarter 1 in ICT: What I Learned and How I Improved
As I look back on my first quarter in ICT, I realize how much I have learned and how important technology is in our daily lives.
One of the biggest lessons I gained was the history of the internet. I found it interesting to know how it all started with ARPANET and how it grew into the internet we use today. I learned about the people who contributed, like Ray Tomlinson who made email, Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn who created TCP/IP, and Tim Berners-Lee who invented the World Wide Web. Learning about them made me appreciate how the internet is more than just social media—it’s a product of years of hard work and innovation.
I also discovered more about internet access like Wi-Fi, broadband, and mobile data, which made me understand how we connect to the online world. I became more familiar with internet browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox, and how search engines like Google help us find information. Another fun part was exploring blogs, where people can share ideas, experiences, and stories online.
But this quarter was not always easy. Some challenges I faced were memorizing dates and names, understanding some technical terms, and even dealing with slow internet connection at times. These problems sometimes made it harder for me to finish my tasks.
To overcome these challenges, I tried to review my notes regularly, searched for simple explanations online, and asked my classmates for help. I also learned to be patient and manage my time better whenever the internet connection was slow.
As I move forward to the next quarter, I want to become more responsible in using technology. I will continue to practice my ICT skills, focus on understanding lessons better, and use the internet more for learning rather than just entertainment. I believe that ICT is not only a subject in school, but also a skill I will need in the future.
Overall, my first quarter in ICT has been full of discoveries and realizations. It challenged me, but it also helped me grow. I’m excited to learn more in the next quarters and continue my journey in the digital world.
